6 Beaches you must Visit near Ferragudo

Ferragudo might be technically on the river but it’s just around the corner from the windswept Atlantic coastline. Here you’ll find yellow sand beaches, clear blue waters, and top surfing spots.

1.Praia da Angrinha

This riverbank location hosts the primary beach that the town has to offer. It is also connected to the Praia Grande, which means that it is a long stretch of sand that is split into two different beaches. This ensures that there is plenty of space available for guests to relax and take in the sights of the marina in Portimao, which is located across the river.

2.Praia do Pintadinho

One of the first beaches that you come to when you go to the coast, this beach has a gorgeous sweep of sand that goes all the way around it. It is home to several beautiful arches and caverns, both of which are wonderful places for adventurers to explore. In addition to that, it is an excellent place to go swimming.

3.Praia do Molhe

This is a little beach that can be found close to the spring of the breakwater on the Rio Arade. A winding staircase cut into the side of the cliff provides access to the area. These rocks, which have a warm coloration, are subject to frequent erosion, and as a result of landslides, there are fallen stones scattered throughout the beach.

There is vegetation growing on the rocks, and the colors of the plants and rocks contrast well with one another. As a result of the waters’ close closeness to the breakwater of the river, the waters here are relatively peaceful, in contrast to the coast, where waves and surfers are frequently seen.In most cases, there is no lifeguard on duty to provide supervision.

4.Praia dos Caneiros

This beach, which provides views of Leixo das Gaivotas and the lighthouse, has a great deal more sand and is accessible by automobile.The landscape, the cliffs, and the caverns that you may explore on foot all contribute to the stunning appearance of this beach. In the region where there have been landslides, the rocks have been dispersed all the way down to the water, creating small rock pools in which you can find small fish and molluscs when the tide is low.

The beach is equipped with a restaurant, restrooms, and lifeguards during the summer months.When you are staying in Ferragudo, you may also want to check out some of the other beaches in the area, such as Praia do Mato or Afurada, both of which are smaller beaches.

5.Praia do Torrado

On the inclining side of the beach that can be found at Farol da Ponta do Altar is this smaller beach. It is a place of outstanding natural beauty but is not frequently visited.You can make out two rocks out in the middle of the water as you look toward the horizon. One is smaller and located closer to the beach, while the other is larger and is known as Leixo da Gaivotas. The only occupants of these two islands are seagulls.

Crows, herons, and seagulls are some of the birds that you might encounter. When the tide is low, visitors can walk through Praia dos Caneiros to reach the beach, or they can use a boat to get there.
